Professional Development
To create life-long learners, we promote life-long learning
Because we are a school, we promote an attitude of open-mindedness and self-improvement. Our collaborative and forward-thinking approach to work and teaching makes us a hub for professional development. We stay true to our mission and train our team to provide a modern and rounded education to our students. Each year we dedicate eight days to staff professional development, balancing digital agility and pedagogical workshops with wellbeing activities.
We invest in people: the school allocates significant resources both in time and funds to ensure the highest level of professional development. The team regularly organises TeachMeet opportunities, a grassroots movement for peer-to-peer learning. Departments meet frequently for collaborative time both within and across departments. The whole team of teaching and non-teaching staff come together bi-weekly to “Share & Tell” about their experience and the big picture of the school’s objectives: a newly discovered app, a new project, an important upcoming event, or further professional development such as gendered intelligence and cultural awareness.
Every team member qualifies for continued professional development (CPD) funding after the first year, allocated by the CPD committee as part of our “Reward & Recognition” scheme in line with the school’s mission and annual CPD objectives. Additionally, staff may request specific help to fund their career goals.
