Student Initiatives

LILMUN is our school’s annual Model United Nations conference. Each year, we welcome hundreds of students from other schools to participate in a three-day event where they simulate United Nations committees. The conference helps students develop key skills such as debating, public speaking, writing, negotiation, and teamwork, while learning more about international issues and diplomacy.

In the Diversity Club, we work to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within our school community, which we believe are essential values in an international school environment. We meet monthly to hold philosophical discussions around cultural events and organize major school-wide initiatives such as Culture Day and Black History Month.

Students created this club because they believed every student deserves more opportunities to explore their creativity and express themselves through art. Recognizing that others might feel the same way, they set out to build a welcoming community where imagination could flourish. Inspired by the idea of a calm and supportive space, they created a place where students can relax, connect with others, and find joy in creating together.

The Music Club is a creative space where students explore singing, songwriting, band work, and music production in a supportive and collaborative environment. It’s open to all abilities and helps students build confidence, creativity, and performance skills while forming a strong musical community.

In the health committee, students give presentations to all year groups on topics related to healthy habits and their overall well-being. For younger students, they make interactive workshops on how to brush their teeth and wash their hands. For older students, they focus on more complex topics such as how to manage stress during exam periods and raising awareness about the dangers of drug trafficking.

Created to encourage Upper Secondary students to develop their skills and learn to enjoy public speaking in a friendly atmosphere.

The LIL Webradio club discusses a variety of topics, such as the history of AI, through podcasts to help inform younger generations.

Started in 2022 by a group of creative friends who enjoyed writing together, this club welcomes both French and English writers, both seasoned and first-time authors. Activities vary depending on interest but can include discussions of good books recommended by members, sharing current writing projects, studying particular genres or playing writing games like creating an exquisite corpse, a parlour game made popular by the surrealists. We also encourage members to participate in the annual ISA Creative Writing Competition.

Students lead this basketball club to create an energetic and inclusive space where everyone can develop their skills and enjoy the game. Open to all abilities, the club focuses on teamwork, confidence, and having fun, whether practicing drills, playing friendly matches, or simply sharing a love for basketball together.

The objective of this club is to bring students into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) by teaching them the core skills needed to approach the engineering world, like python programming and in the future Computer Aided Design otherwise known as 3D modeling. We hope to bring more kids into engineering, and maybe have them discover a new passion.
